Superhero Suit Up Campaign
Candlelighters invites the community to join us to participate in the Superhero Suit Up Campaign to celebrate the brave children of our hometown battling cancer. The campaign features inspirational photos, videos and stories from the Candlelighters’ Operation Superhero experience. This program was created in 2019 to provide deserving families with a superhero transformational photoshoot experience through Jason Hook Photography with the help of program volunteers and donors. Candlelighters selects the 6 most deserving children battling cancer within the organization annually based on specific criteria: Currently on treatment; Severity of cancer & treatment; Life altering side effects from cancer and/or treatment; Relapse or length / longevity of time on treatment / battling cancer. The children and their families attend a Hollywood Premiere themed Reveal Party where they see their movie posters and movie trailer on the big screen. This two-part experience is extremely empowering for the children and their families as they see the support of the community surrounding them during their most difficult time of need. On behalf of Candlelighters of Brevard, thank you for supporting the Superhero Suit Up Campaign. This fundraiser allows the children of Candlelighters to fully develop and engage their superpowers against the villain – cancer. Every donation dollar counts towards lifting our precious youth.
Check out our Candlelighters’ Superhero Premiere Party video for a behind the scenes look at the Hollywood themed premiere of Operation Superhero! It was a truly magical day celebrating our superheroes’ triumph over cancer. The leading ladies and gentlemen walked the red carpet and greeted their fans that have supported them throughout their journey against pediatric cancer. These children now know, without a doubt, their true superpower is INSPIRATION!
Special thank you to our volunteers and to the amazing companies that made this day possible, especially Jason Hook Photography, 142 Productions, Acevedo Photography, and Premiere Theaters at the Oaks. Our community has come together to Suit Up alongside Hulk, Black Widow, Warrior, Zatanna, Iron Man and Storm to raise $47,700 for the children of Candlelighters!
