PREVIOUS EVENT DONATIONS:
Thank You Wassi’s Meat Market!!
The 2018 Sunshine State Eggfest hosted by Wassi’s Meat Market drew thousands of people together at Indian River County Fairgrounds for a weekend of fun and food. This remarkable event raised $13,400 for the children of Candlelighters – an $8,000 increase from last year’s event! The two-day festivity featured the EggChef Meet and Greet presented by the American Muscle Car Museum, as well as the main event cook-off on Saturday, April 28. We are extremely thankful for the efforts of the event organizers, Wassi’s Meat Market, and the support of Melbourne BMW – who generously donated $10,000 as the Signature Sunshine State Eggfest Sponsor.
The Wassi family has become a beloved part of our COB family. The blood, sweat, and tears they invest to make this event a success for Candlelighters is truly inspirational. Community events, like EggFest, are a large factor in our ability to continue raising awareness for our local families battling pediatric cancer and to continue expanding our services to children in Indian River County.

Childhood Cancer Awareness
September marks National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. At Candlelighters of Brevard, we take this opportunity to more deeply reflect with our community on the realities of childhood cancer. For over 27 years, Candlelighters has seen first-hand the devastation that the diagnosis of childhood cancer brings on to the entire family unit. However, we have also witnessed how the community can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these same families through education, advocacy, financial assistance and emotional support. All month long on COB’s Facebook we share information, facts, stories and much more. To all of our COB families past and present throughout Brevard County, we honor each of you. Together as a community, if we reach out for their little hands we may just be able to touch their big hearts.
Modern Woodmen of America serve as the first company to donate to Candlelighters’ 25 for 25 anniversary campaign. Financial Representative of Modern Woodmen of America, Donnie Torok, proudly presented a check in the amount of $2,500 to Candlelighters of Brevard on Wednesday, October 8. Modern Woodmen of America is the first organization to donate to Candlelighters’ 25 for 25 corporate partnerships campaign launched in September in celebration of COB’s 25th anniversary of service to the community. Any organization that donates in the amounts of $250, $2,500 or $25,000 will receive a series of return on investment opportunities and community exposure through Candlelighters of Brevard. Thanks to the generous support of Donnie and the entire Modern Woodmen of America team, Candlelighters is able to grow its base of programs and services provided to local children courageously battling cancer.
